Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United States. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran eventually left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s initial Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared on each seasons of Shark Tank. As of February 2020, she's signed 53 deals for the show, the largest one being $350,000 to purchase 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child of 10 kids born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was an exemplary household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to the next throughout Corcoran's youth. Sometimes, the family relied on deliveries of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk occasionally and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran struggled in school, and she later found out that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered the high school system in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
